Pentwyn Farmhouse

Sleeps 6.

Pentwyn Farmhouse has been renovated from the original 16th century farmhouse occupied by my father and his parents until 1943. It is now one of three dwellings approached through an oak woodland, looking down the Yscir Fechan valley on the edges of The Mynydd Eppynt. There are amazing views from the farmhouse over the surrounding countryside.

Sleeps 6, 3 bedrooms. Open plan ground floor with a superb fitted kitchen with a built in-oven with electric hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Dining table with chairs. Comfy sofas and chairs and a large featured central fire-place with a "real-flame" stove and great ancient oak lintel. TV with some Sky channels. The utility has a washing machine, sink and a cloak room with handbasin and toilet.

Solid oak flooring throughout with hand crafted oak windows, solid oak doors and exposed beams. Excellent craftsmanship throughout, with "home grown" oak from the farm; all sustainably forested. The owners have used local joiners and carpenters at all times.

Up a flight of central flight of stairs to three bedrooms. Bedroom 1- double bed with shower cubicle and washbasin. Bedroom 2- twin beds. Bedroom 3 - double bed. The family bathroom is very spacious with a double sized shower, bath, handbasin and toilet.

Bedlinen and towels provided. Electricity and oil-fired central heating. Pets welcome but to be kept downstairs and under strict control as this is very definitely sheep country. A Welcome Pack including Welsh and local produce. Ample parking. Patio and a Garden with garden furniture and a BBQ. Mobile telephone reception poor. Wifi, games room and hot tub available for a small additional cost. Cot and high chair available. Horses welcome on discussion with the owner; this is the home of the Epynt Stud where the family breed Section A Welsh ponies. The property is surrounded by brilliant riding country.

What an amazing cottage! This has to be the best equipped holiday accommodation. The views are stunning, the walks exploring the countryside are highly recommended. We had a fantastic Christmas, sledging down the hills was definitely one of the highlights. Thank you for getting us up here after we had to abandon our car in the snow. Definitely top marks for this stay, a big thank you!
